James Robert McMillen, 81, of Home, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at The Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, PA. The son of Floyd and Thelma (Short) McMillen, he was born January 21, 1938 in South Mahoning Township. James operated his own dairy farm, by himself, for over 40 years. Uncle Bob will be sadly missed by his surviving sister Marjorie Frye, East Palestine, Ohio, his nephews Rodney Wolfe (Pam), Albion, PA, Edward Moore, (Susan) Indiana, PA, Randy Moore (Suzanne), Coconut Creek, FL, James Scott Moore,(Claire), Thornton, CO, Casey Moore (Janice), Home, PA, Dennis Frye (Suzie) East Palestine, OH, and his niece Denise Powers (David), East Palestine, OH, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Thelma McMillen, sisters, Emma Mildred Wolfe and Helen Valjean Moore, niece Sonya Wolfe and nephew George Cameron Wolfe.
Friends will be received on Saturday November 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Katie Stear, officiating. Private interment in the Greenwood Cemetery will immediately follow.
His family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at The Communities at Indian Haven for the care, concern and affection they showed him during his stay. He knew all their names and really enjoyed talking with them as they cared for him. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Presbyterian Church of Plumville, Box 422, Plumville, PA 16246 or The Communities at Indian Haven, 1675 Saltsburg Ave., Indiana, PA 15701.
