Helen McPherson

Helen Margaret (Peggy) McPherson, 88, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Edward P. and Sara (Buchanan) Rosborough, she was born June 12, 1930 in Indiana, PA.

Helen was a lifetime resident of the Indiana area. She was a loving mother of five children and six grandsons. She had previously been employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (State Stores) for twenty years and employed as a hostess at Deans Restaurant of Indiana.

Helen (Peggy) attended the Indiana Area School District beginning at Hood School, a one room school house.

Peg enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months in Florida with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.

Surviving are her three sons, Bradley B. and wife Christine and their two sons, Sean and Corey, Friendswood, TX, Jeffrey J., Indiana, and Gregory G., Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Kimberley K. and her partner, Robin L. Prugh, Indiana, and Lesley L. Gonzales, husband Al and their three sons, Taylor, Joshua and Jason, Indiana, PA; Tyleeta McPherson, Oma’s only granddaughter-in-law; sister, Betty L. Kuhel, Greensburg; a special niece, Kandy Kuhel, Greensburg; nephew Kevin Kuhel; a niece who she considered as a daughter, Julie (Rosborough) Nicholas and husband, Jim; numerous other nieces and nephews; close friends, Mike and Kathy Mulgrew, Brian Colgan, Sandi and Dave Fairman, Pat Sexton, Dick and Sheila Kelly; and all her wonderful neighbors.

In addition, special thanks to VNA nurses, Lynda Beer, Jeannie Clark and Jennifer, and the fourth-floor post-surgical nursing staff at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents; husband, Harry Berton (Bert) McPherson, sister, Joan Rosborough Hammill; brother, James Rosborough; and grandson, Tyler Grant McPherson the son of Kim and Robin.

 Friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service at 11 am Saturday, August 25, at the Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Arthur Dilg, officiating.
