Gerald Thomas Fox, Sr., 76, Indiana, passed away peacefully on his farm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018, surrounded by his closest family.
The son of Walter and Esther (Evans) Fox, he was born July 31, 1941 in Indiana, PA.
Gerald’s life was dedicated to establishing, building, and maintaining the Fox Family Farm. For sixty years, he raised registered Polled Hereford cattle. He collected Allis Chalmers tractors to prepare and work his farmland, most of which are still in operation today on the farm. Gerald was no stranger to the value of hard work and the benefits it provided to his family.
Gerald was employed numerous years with Indiana University of Pennsylvania as an Electrician. He attended Grace United Methodist Church with his wife Jeanne, to whom he was married for 55 years. Together, they raised their family and opened their home to many foster children. He enjoyed farming, collecting tractors, and attending auctions. Gerald will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Surviving are his children, Jeannette Lemmon, Indiana, Gerald (Kelly) Fox, Jr., Indiana, Noah (Karen) Fox, Union, NJ, Bridget (John) Grogan, McDonald, PA, and Michael (Amanda) Fox, Indiana; sisters, Phyllis (Robert) Kasian, Indiana and Gloria Fox, Strongsville, OH; thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne (Gaston) Fox; and a brother, George Fox.
Friends will be received on Sunday, June 17 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 18, with Pastor Bob Bartlebaugh officiating, beginning at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow in the Pine Cemetery, Rossiter.
