Gary L. Coy, 57, of Penn Run, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family and girlfriend Jill.
Born on January 3, 1961, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Helen L. (Benko) Coy.
Gary graduated from Penns Manor Area High School in 1979 and was self-employed as the owner-operator of Coy’s Trucking and Excavating. He was also the proud owner of Coy’s Concession for many years, a business started by his family over 50 years ago, before handing it down to his sons. Gary loved spending time outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling to the beach with his family. He was a proud father and grandfather and he adored spending time with his five grandsons. Over the past 10 years, Gary especially loved spending time with his “Honey”, Jill.
He is survived by his children, Michael A. Coy and wife Delilah, of Homer City; Jamie L. Shaner and husband Jason, of Leesburg, VA; Joseph J. Coy, of Valencia; Landon C. Coy, of Indiana; five grandsons, Marcus, Reece, Lucas, Logan, and Jacob; and girlfriend, Jill Cunningham Milner, of Indiana. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Coy, of Nolo; William Coy, of Penn Run; Donna Malenich and husband Charles, of Carlisle; Randy Coy, of Penn Run; Doris Coy, of Nolo; and Matthew Coy and wife Kimberly, of Nolo; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Helen L. (Benko) Coy.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 6-8pm, followed by a short prayer service at 8pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home in Indiana, PA.
