Ella Stenman

Ella Stenman 86, Plumville, died Saturday, January 27, 2018, at her residence.

The daughter of Ralph and Almeda (Henneman) Lowman, she was born September 4, 1931 in Indiana.

Ella was active in the Lutheran church and in the Plumville community. She was employed by Delpras’ restaurant for many years where everyone knew her as Ellie. She also was employed by the Homestead restaurant in Smicksburg. Ella was active many years working the elections in Plumville and volunteered for VNA Family Hospice. Ella will be remembered for her excellent baking and spending time with her family and friends. Her life was enriched on June 28, 1952 when she married Robert Stenman.            

Ella leaves behind to mourn her passing, children, Russell Stenman and companion Kathy Wunder, Sahuarita, AZ, Roberta “Bobbie” Douglass, Kittanning, Rodney Stenman and companion Candy Shotts, Home, Ruth (Scott) Fisher, Home, Rebecca “Becky” Hart, Home, Rhonda VanHorn and Gary Lam, Elderton, Rosella (David) Williams, Indiana, Richard “Rick” (Chasity) Stenman, Plumville; daughter-in-law, Candy Bricker, Chicora; sixteen grandchildren, Tonya, Sonya, Roger, Marcia, Jamie, Amber, Tyler, Jeremy, Craig, Angie, Joshua, Jesse, Seth, Veronica, Alexis, and Dalton; four step grandchildren, Desiree, Derek, Ashlee, and Alysha; and nineteen great grandchildren; brothers, Don Lowman and Ron (Loretta) Lowman; sisters, Alene Missien, Nancy Feret, Sandra DeRubis, and Patricia Vampotic.

 Preceding Ella in death were her parents; husband Robert (2015), son Randy (1986), grandson, Christopher (2003), Sister, Martha Murtland, and twin sister, Della Allison.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. An additional hour of viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 am in the Smicksburg Lutheran Church with funeral service to immediately follow with Rev. Arlene Schweitzer, officiating.

Interment will be in the Smicksburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Smicksburg Lutheran Church, Plumville VFD, or the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care.
