Dolores Vislosky Obituary

Dolores “Beebe” Vislosky passed over to Heaven on Friday, September 6, 2019 while at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Beebe was the oldest daughter born to Grant and Pansy (Wirick) Penrod on August 11, 1931 in Windber, PA.

She married her high school sweetheart, Andrew “Gump” Vislosky, on April 9, 1950.

Beebe was a woman of great faith who radiated kindness and a positive attitude wherever she went.  She had a great sense of humor and her outlook on life was amazing to her family, friends, and even doctors.  She loved the lost and spoke of her faith in Jesus to whoever she met and her constant prayers as a “Prayer Warrior for Christ” transformed the lives of many.  She was joyful through her pain and suffering and always said “You just have to grin and bear it.”

Beebe was a homemaker most of her life but later worked at Indiana County Head Start.  She volunteered at Church Crisis Committee, Food Bank, Citizens for Decency, and Indian Haven where she played piano with a flair of her own.  She was a Sunday school teacher and went to India on a mission trip.  Beebe loved to travel, especially going to Ocean City and on bus trips with her neighbor, Romayne Mitsko.  She looked forward every day to chatting with the Meals on Wheels volunteers.  Beebe enjoyed going out to eat, sitting on her back porch, watching the birds, and walking to McDonalds with her sister.  They would play scrabble, along with her great niece, Alissa Bechtel.  Everyone loved her macaroni and cheese, Wacky Cake, and her special iced tea.

She was a long-time member of the Indiana Church of the Brethren and most recently a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she loved to clap and praise her Lord.

Beebe is survived by her five children, Marcie (Jeff Chronosky), Mark (Jackie Lentz), Diane (Bruce Walls), Timmy (Sherry Woodrow), and Kathy (Tommy Tyger); also surviving is her sister and best friend, Dorothy Bechtel; 12 grandchildren, Missy and Roger Ditmore, Mindy and Jason Harper, Jeff Chronosky, Jr. and Kristy Forberger, Marianne and Matt Streams, Melanie Chronosky and Edwin Visser, Josh and Milea Vislosky, Luke and Beth Vislosky, Jordan and Jennifer Vislosky, Tyler and Nicole Vislosky, Noah Vislosky and Robyn Nicewonger, Timmy and Lori Tyger, and Justin and Jenny Tyger; special grand-pets, Drew, Angel, and Rachel; 22 great grandchildren, Max, Stella, Cole, Casey, Blaine, Jackson, Sophia, Elliana, Amelia, Sawyer, Lincoln, Kirsten, Kate, Dean, Evan, Abby, Morgan, Lydia, Jonathan, William, David, and Ryan; many nieces and nephews; special great nephew, Eli and friend, Rosemary Stiffler; brother-in-laws, Tom and Alfred; sisters-in-law, Janet, Kathryn, and Mildred; stepsiblings, Jerry, Denny, Larry, and Linda.

Preceding Beebe in death was her mother and father; husband “Gump” of 44 years; sister, Donna Hoover; grandson, Tommy Clair Tyger; brother, Johnny; sisters-in-law, Marianne and Rose; and stepmother, Mae Dick Penrod.

No more pain Mom, you’re free at last.  You always said “Don’t cry for me when I’m gone.”  So we rejoice and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the best mom/gramma ever.  Till we meet again dear sweet Momma.  “For God so loved the world, that He sent His only Son.  That whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.”
