Steven Wayne Hinderliter, age 58, of Home, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

The son of Robert Allen and Martha Louise (Himes) Hinderliter, he was born February 17, 1959 in Brookville, PA.

Steven was employed at CME Engineering in Greensburg, PA for the past 16 years, most recently serving as Senior Project Director.  He also served on the Pennsylvania Coal Association Board of Directors. 

Steven was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Indiana, PA, where he served in many positions including Branch President, Elders’ Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, District Clerk, District Young Men’s President, District High Council, along with many others. 

He will be remembered as a kind and compassionate man who radiated goodness.   He was a loving husband and father.  He was loved and respected by all who knew him.  Some of his greatest qualities were his humble heart, hard work ethic, and his willingness to help anyone in need. 

Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Beers) Hinderliter of Home, PA; mother, Martha Hinderliter of Mayport, PA; children, Megan (Matthew) Nielsen of Saratoga Springs, UT, Lisa (Scott) Johnson of Salt Lake City, UT, Troy (Anna) Hinderliter of Home, PA, Tia Carollo of Salt Lake City, UT and Jill (James) Oliver of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Blake, Mailey, and Makenzie Nielsen and Hadley and Anders Johnson; and a brother, Michael (Lois) Hinderliter of Mayport, PA.

Proceeding Steven in death was his father, Robert.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana, PA.  An additional hour of visitation will occur from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday followed by a funeral service in the Lefdahl Chapel with President Glen Ishoy, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s choice.
