Sondra Lou (Peace) Ooten, 62 of Homer City, PA., passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at her home.

She was the daughter of George G. and Elizabeth (Bagley) Peace, born on May 28, 1954 in Indiana, PA.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, making her never-miss minnow hooks, watching Lifetime and horror movies and was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan. Sondra loved spending time with her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, David L. Haag of Homer City; 5 children, David Sturgeon and wife Alicia of Homer City; Virgil Ooten Jr. and fiancé Teresa Blankenship of Olive Hill, KY; Cheryl Ruddock and husband Curt of Shelocta; Glenn Ooten and wife Christy of Indiana; Jennifer Mason and husband Tony of Homer City; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Debra Sturgeon and husband Frank of Barr Slope; Sandra Crook her twin sister and husband Phil of Creekside; and many nieces and nephews.

Sondra was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Sturgeon; daughter, Becky Sturgeon; granddaughter, Cheyenne Ruddock and several brothers and sisters.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 11a.m. – 1p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Her funeral service will follow at 1p.m. at the funeral home with Cpt. Geoffrey Swires, officiate. Interment will be made in the Sample Run Cemetery, Clymer; followed by dinner reception at The Indiana Salvation Army at 4p.m. Monetary donations are being received by John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
