Robert L. Beers, 72, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 with his wife and daughter by his side.

The son of Harold and Mabel (Gromley) Beers, he was born July 6, 1945 in Indiana, PA.

Robert was employed as a coal miner for R&P Coal Company at Helvatica Mine and retired after 25 years of service.  He was a member of the Indiana American Legion Post 141.  Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outside.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and extended family.

Surviving is Robert’s wife of 29 years, Debra (Steffy) Beers; daughter, Christina M. (Beers) Yuhas and her husband, Daniel, Northern Cambria; grandchildren, Emily M. and Matthew J. Yuhas, both of Northern Cambria; a brother, Larry Wayne Beers; and a sister, Betty Jane (James) Shaffer.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana.  A funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Erica Wellner, officiating.

Interment in the Oakland Cemetery will be private.
