Kurt.........My friend down through the years. From football games in the cow pasture, basketball games in the barn or lifting weights in his basement with Rich. Never let me forget the tree I shot when we were hunting together at his farm. His calls always resulted in laughing so hard my stomach would hurt at the end. If ever there was a true friend I will miss you for the rest of my life.

Debby and family - Kurt and I were high school friends going to different HS, but same church. Our moms spent many hours together in prayer times. I was shocked to hear of his passing. I see he had a rich life and packed a lot into those years and of course what he was to your family was undoubtedly full as well. May God, family and friends be close to you and help in your grief and pain. You're in my prayers these days.

I just found out about the passing of Dr. Dudt & I am stunned. Dr. Dudt was my advisor at IUP 25+ years ago and he was one of my favorites during my time at IUP. In later years, I would see him out and about & I would reminisce with him. He was always kind & thoughtful & I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was one of a kind. Prayers for his family & friends. God's speed Kurt.

Kurt Dudt was one of the finest people I ever knew. He always had a smile, a pat on the back, and a sincere interest in your life. I knew him as a scout leader, teacher, minister, and friend..but he was so much more. He will be missed, but our loss is Heavens gain. Sympathies to the family.

The memory of Kurt is everlasting in my heart. He is the cousin who helped teach his city cousin the ways of the country, something for which I have always been grateful. May all who loved him find comfort and peace as his life is celebrated. With love - Wendy Smiley

Dr. Dudt left a lasting impression on me. I entered the PhD program at IUP when he was Chairman of the department in 2010. He was welcoming, funny, and genuine. The very first class I took in the PhD program was taught by him. His teaching style, humor, personal stories and knowledge of communications made learning difficult material so much easier. I will always have fond memories of Dr. Dubt and feel blessed that he was a part of my academic learning and success. Please know that your husband and father made a lasting positive influence in my life and that the world was so much better for the hard work and contribution he made to many. I send my heart felt condolences to you and your family and hope that you find peace in knowing how much Dr. Dudt was admired.

I was in the first cohort of the PhD program that Dr. Dudt created. He was so kind to me over the years. He changed my life with that doctoral program. He also made me laugh. I had published a magazine before coming back to IUP to pursue my PhD. At my interview to join the program, he pulled out a copy of my magazine and informed me that he had submitted a poem to my magazine; and I had rejected it. I was horrified and certain that meant the end of my chances to enter the program. But, he just laughed. In my rejection letter, I had explained that we didn't publish poetry. And, since he wanted to start his own academic journal, he was already planning to offer me a GA to help him get it started. He did. And I was proud to work with him to create that journal. I can't even list all the things he did for me and for others in the CMIT program over the years. But one of my favorite memories is that when I graduated, he surprised me by attending my graduation party. He had just bought his Spider ( a three -wheeled motorcycle) and he gave the guests at my party rides on it. He was the highlight of the party. Dr. Dudt was smart and kind and funny. And I will miss him.

As a former IUP student of Dr. Dudt's, I send my sympathy and prayers to his family. I am truly heartbroken at his passing. As a professor of mine, Dr. Dudt inspired me to be creative and outspoken with my ideas. He made me want to work harder, which ended up being my motivation and success in fulfilling my career goals. Thank you Dr. Dudt for your inspiration and guidance! Peace be with you...
