Kenneth Donald Smith, 53, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his residence.
The son of Donald and Carol (Watkins) Smith, he was born December 6, 1962 in Indiana.
Kenneth was married for 34 years and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His most cherished time was the time spent with his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “happy pappy”. Kenneth enjoyed Nascar, fishing, remote control cars, and video games. As a talented painter and artist, he put his special touch on many of the area homes while employed by Mark Milner for twelve years. Kenneth and was also a self-taught piano player. Importantly, both Kenneth and Kathy were recently baptized by Pastor Kathy Mihoerck at their home as a sign of accepting Christ the Lord into their lives.
Surviving is Kenneth’s mother, Carol Smith; wife, Kathy (Deyarmin) Smith, Indiana; daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Arthurs, Homer City; grandchildren, David and Alexander Arthurs, both of Homer City; sister, Karen (Timothy) Dotts, Indiana; brother, Roger (Sally) Smith, Shelocta; uncle, Dennis Smith, Brownsville, and aunts, Nancy (James) Griffin, Kirkland, OH, and Loretta (David) Wakefield, Armagh; a special boss and friend, Mark Milner and co-worker, Tom Kopczyk; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth will be forever missed by his loving family and friends and will be painting them sunset in the sky.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Smith; and a nephew, Timothy “Timmy” Dotts; and Uncle Earl “Cookie” Smith
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana, with a funeral service immediately following in the Lefdahl Chapel.
