Ella West Ellsmore, 102, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on February 03, 2017 while at Bethany Place Residential Care.

The daughter of Rev. Charles W. and Olive (Whited) West, she was born June 23, 1914 in Dayton, PA.

Mrs. Ellsmore had attended Glen Campbell High School. Over the years she became a self-taught accomplished musician, artist and poet. She was a member of the Indiana Art Association. Ella was an art teacher and also a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Ellsmore exhibited her art work in county fairs and was awarded many blue ribbons.  Her room at Bethany Place was a beautiful display of her art which was enjoyed by visitors and staff.

Ella will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother .

Surviving are her children, Jean E. Taylor, Phonixville, PA, Rev. James C. (Sarah) Ellsmore, Indiana, PA, Carol A. Ellsmore, Indiana; grandchildren, James W. (Cheryl) Ellsmore, Woodbridge, VA, Lisa M. Hall, Purceville, VA, Richard L. (Gretchen) Ellsmore, Arvada, CO, and Amy B. West, Fairfax, VA; great grandchildren, Sarah A., Rachel, and Seth Ellsmore, Nicholle (Todd)  Johnson. Laurel Hall, Erik, Mitchell and Jakob Ellsmore, Maximus, Jack and Cassian West; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ella in death were her parents; husband, William J. Ellsmore; and brothers, Floyd and Willard West.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, from12 to 2 pm at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Ella’s son, Rev. James C. Ellsmore, officiating.

Interment in the Rowley Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ella Ellsmore's name may be made to Bethany Place, Activities Music Program.
