Eleanor Rene (Ellie) Pearce was called home on January 5, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ellie, the daughter of Anne (Cornman) and Jerry Chester, was born August 29, 1967 in Punxsutawney. She was a 1987 graduate of Indiana High School. 
Ellie lived life to the fullest facing all challenges with a smile.   She was an avid Steelers fan and collected cat, wolf, and Native American items.  She was a member of Spina Bifida Assoc. and Young Adult Handicapped.  Ellie played ball with the Miracle League, attended Camp Orenda every year since she was eight, loved harness racing, enjoyed eating out at every opportunity, and looked forward to spending winters in Florida. 
Surviving are her parents, sisters Annetta (Bill) Denning, Marion Center and Regina (Tom) Himes, Slate Lick; nephew, Bill (Olivia) Denning of Marion Center; niece, Breanne (Matt) Lockhart, Rochester Mills; grandnephew, Liam Denning; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was also survived by her devoted caregiver and friend Dee Weaver and special friends Terry and Laura Altmeyer, Scott Guella, David Brozick, and Cindy Bothel.
Preceding Ellie in death was her father, Dale Pearce; maternal grandparents, David and Eleanor Cornman; and paternal grandparents, Guy and Mary Annetta Pearce.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. An additional hour of visitation will be held Tuesday from Noon until 1 p.m. at which time funeral service will follow in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Dennis Howard, officiating.
Interment in the North Point Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eleanor Pearce Memorial Fund in care of Lefdahl Funeral Home or the Indiana YMCA Miracle League Team.
