Dwayne Emerson Elkin, 40, Home, died Monday June 24, 2013.
The son of Robert E. and Judy Kay (Lewis) Elkin, he was born June 23, 1973, in Indiana.
Dwayne was employed as a boiler maker by Matrix SME out of Michigan who had an excellent work ethic and took great pride in his work. He was well liked and respected by his coworkers.
Dwayne will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and son. His greatest pleasure and treasure in life was the time he shared with his family, vacationing, hunting, fishing and four wheeling with his family. One of his best attributes was his warm and loving personality. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, and fisherman.
Dwayne will be sadly missed by those who knew him. His friends and family were truly blessed to have known Dwayne and he will forever remain in their hearts.
Surviving is his wife Angie Marie (McClure) Elkin, who he affectionately called lub-lub and wed July 31, 1999; his two boys, Dalton Alexander, age 12, and Logan Andrew, age 10, all of Home; his parents, Robert and Judy (Lewis) Elkin, Home; sister Jodie Yvonne (Elkin) Kaplon and her husband Raymond, Home; paternal grandfather, Ralph E. Elkin, Home; special uncle, Ronald Elkin, Home; nephews, Nathan Kaplon, San Diego, CA, Michael Thomas Kaplon, Home, and Todd Elkin and his partner Alexis, Home; niece Dawn Ann (Elkin) Fisher and her husband, Brad, Home; mother-in-law Mary E. (Palmer) McClure, and father-in-law Timothy McClure, Indiana.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his grandmothers Dorothy Lewis and Betty Elkin; grandfather, Wayne Lewis.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm at the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Additional viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am Saturday morning prior to the funeral service at 11 am in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Mark Brady, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marion Center Bank, 162 Rte 119N, Indiana, Pa. 15701 with memo for the benefit of Angela Elkin’s children.
