Dorris Joan Pitt Pappal, 92, of Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, at St. Andrews Village.
Born March 27, 1924 in New Alexandria, PA, she was the daughter of F. Edgar Pitt and Harriett Tarr Pitt Leasure.
Dorris was an artist who painted many saws and hand painted greeting cards. She was the pianist of Calvary Bible Church until August of this year where she had played for over 50 years. Dorris was also a charter member of Calvary Bible Church where she devoted much of her time and talents. Her piano career started originally at Pine Vale Christian Church where so many remember her talents in bible school and other church programs
She married Charles on March 18, 1946. Before he passed away, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Dorris has two children, Charles Pappal Jr. and his wife Barbara of Indiana, PA and Patricia Pappal Seigworth and husband Russel of Home, PA; three brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and Lloyd and two sisters, Alice Pitt Pierce and Evelyn Pitt Fulmer; six grandchildren, Kelly Seigworth Berfield, Kristine Seigworth, Kimberly Seigworth Herzing, Mark Seigworth, Bradley Pappal and Jenna Pappal Cofer; six great grandchildren, Sadie Herzing, Nadia Herzing, David Herzing, Maelyn Pappal, Callan Pappal, and Ethan Cofer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor John Traxler and Pastor John Sykes, officiating.
Interment in the Washington Church Cemetery will be private.
