David Gene Crawford, Sr., 67, Chambersville, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 while at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The son of Donald and Nancy (Kuhn) Crawford, he was born February 21, 1950 in Bell Township, Westmoreland County.

Mr. Crawford was a carpenter and roofer by trade.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on cars, and family gatherings for cookouts.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Surviving is his wife Kathy (Murphy) Crawford, Chambersville; his mother, Nancy Crawford, Saltsburg; children, Tracy Smith, Miami, FL, David Crawford, Jr. and fiancée Tonya Wetzel, Homer City, Kimberly (Joseph) Foehlinger, Wrightsville, PA, Joseph (Jamie) Crawford, Indiana, and Jason (Jessica) Crawford, Creekside; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and sister, Susan Crawford, Saltsburg.

Preceding Mr. Crawford in death were his father; brother, William; and sister, Alice.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.  Funeral service will immediately follow at 8 p.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel with Pastor Tim Beitzel, officiating.

Interment in the Crooked Creek Baptist Church Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 N, Indiana, PA 15701 to assist with funeral expenses.
