Clair E. Fulmer, 89, Indiana, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence.
The son of Roy and Dorthy (Brandon) Fulmer, he was born March 27, 1927 in Shelocta.
Clair was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as first class fireman aboard the U.S.S. Pirate Minesweeper off Okinawa, Korea, Japan, and Formasa.
Clair worked as a mechanic for W.B. Rising Garage, McCreary Tire Company, Williams Shafts, and retired from Barnes and Tucker Coal Company. He was a farmer who enjoyed raising beef cattle. Clair belonged to the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose in Indiana. He was a former member of the C&Y Sportsman Club and Shelocta Sportsman Club.
Surviving is his son, Larry E. (Debra Schrecengost) Fulmer; and three daughters, Diane (Richard) Marshall, Evelyn (Randy) Stern, and Marie Henry; twelve grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alberta Calhoun, OH and Leroy Fulmer, Gary, IN; daughter in law, Karen (Wood) Fulmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Ekis) whom he wed December 22, 1948; a son, Alvin Fulmer; and four sisters, Betty George, Esther Little-Schock, Elinor Muckle, and Bernice Wilson.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. Funeral service will conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Micah McMillen, officiating. Interment to follow in the Curry Run Cemetery.
